"Robert, is that you?"

There was no answer, nor were there any sounds of keys turning on the door. 

Samuel knew all too well not to open the door at this time of night. His unit was the only apartment on that level which was occupied. The entire block had been slated to be demolished and almost all the occupants had moved out. 

Robert had told him that their new house will be ready soon but till then, they would have to stay for a little while longer in this old flat. He had advised his grandfather to stay in the house after dark, for his own safety.
