This is definitely one of the more odd episodes of California's Gold. It really didn't seem like it at first. An eccentric guy builds a castle and left behind a structure that is now a monument to a bygone era. There are numerous stories like this throughout California. But once you scratch the surface of Scotty's Castle, and the less than scrupulous manner with which Walter Scott formed a life-long relationship with the Johnson's from Chicago, the wild and weird ways of Death Valley come into focus.
