I’ve been learning about change in my life. Whenever I’ve thought about change in the past, I’d thought about grand movements - the wearing away of mountains by weather: that sort of stuff. And, if I thought about change of the past, I’d consider historical epochs and thematic shifts in human history (told through the perspective of some historian no doubt). Such is the modern struggle.
However, I’ve begun to think of change in terms of “what comes just before.” Just as when we go from sitting to standing, there are some adjustments to be made. Sometimes these adjustments are minute, while other times they are quite major; nevertheless, there still needs to be room for these progressions in our lives, and the more we can be aware of them while they’re happening, the more we can experience and be involved in our own lives.
