Susanne Smetana is a Christian postpartum and bereavement doula with a Masters in Theological Studies from Concordia University. After years of advocating for sexual assault survivors to receive more support in institutions like universities and churches, she wrote her thesis on entitled “Forgiving and Wounding: A Theological Exploration on Forgiveness and Sexual Violence.” She believes in breaking the cycle of trauma for a healthier future in our families, communities, and churches.
