Bakersfield and the surrounding areas seems to have wacky and wild stories. From 14 year old kids with Down Syndrome choking to death on hotdogs to restaurants being shut down from cockroach invasions. It is a city with a small town mentality. To quote Randy, Bakersfield "wants to be a big city." But it is stuck in old ways and can not or is not ready to take that next step. But.....all that aside, it is home for these two. And at least this city is a patriotic, 2nd Amendment-loving city and not like San Fransisco. If only the it wasn't so God damn HOT!!!!!!!!
