Russia sent peacekeepers to the Armenian exclave of Artsakh in 2019 to halt the 44-day war that killed nearly 5,000 Armenians and saw them lose some of their ancestral territories to Azerbaijan. Now, the Azeris are taking advantage of the fact Russia is distracted in Ukraine to press their advance once more. In the meantime, Armenians are denouncing the war in Ukraine even though Ukraine supported Azerbaijan in their own conflict.
