Kindness isn't just about being charitable to people who are perceived to be miserable or downtrodden. It's a fundamental approach to the way we view people in our everyday lives. Matthew submits a comprehensive view of what it means to be kind, and argues that when we are mindful and appreciative of what is commonly important to us all, as exemplified in his recent personal funeral experience, an air of pure goodwill remains. Carrying this into our everyday lives in dealing with people, we can create and live in a world of benevolence, regardless of others' attitudes.
