On today’s episode, we’re thrilled to welcome Jessica Guarneri—a former college teammate, accomplished coach, and lifelong friend—whose passion for basketball and dedication to student growth have made her a true force in athletics and education.
Jessica’s journey began in Piscataway, New Jersey, where she was a varsity standout in field hockey, basketball, and softball. With a state championship, all-state honors in both field hockey and basketball, all-county recognition for softball, and a slew of Division I offers, Jessica’s athletic résumé is nothing short of remarkable.
She took her talents to UNC Asheville, making history as the first women’s basketball player to earn All-Conference honors for three consecutive years (freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons). Jessica led her team in scoring, rebounding, and steals each year before transferring to Wingate University for her senior season. There, she was named SAC Conference Player of the Year and earned Kodak All-American Honorable Mention honors.
Jessica’s coaching career is equally impressive. She’s coached at the collegiate level, excelling in recruiting and strength and conditioning, and has led her varsity basketball teams to the state championship three times. As the current Women’s Head Basketball Coach and Dean of Student Culture at GAC, Jessica continues to inspire and impact the lives of her athletes and students every day.
Join us as Jessica shares insights from her athletic journey, coaching philosophy, and the lessons she’s learned about leadership, resilience, and building a winning culture—on and off the court.
