Episode 6: Ditch Perfection & Aim for Excellence Instead
For as long as I can remember, I’ve described myself as a perfectionist. Avoiding mistakes like the plague and subsequently beating myself up anytime I (inevitably) made them.
Striving for perfection hasn’t been all bad - it’s fostered a strong attention to detail, kept my standards for myself high, and has instilled a deep pride for my work within me. Even so, perfection is a dead end to disappointment because it’s an impossible (and, honestly, unnecessary) caliber to reach.
So how do we take the good and leave the bad? Eat the meat and spit out the bones? Buckle up my friends, because we’re making a sharp left turn into excellence, and we’re not looking back.
