Concepts For Improvisation

Episode 6: Eliminate Your Fear of Improvisation (Part 6)

Listen Later

In Podcast #5 we examined the concept of “Locking Up With The Changes”. The track consisted of a Csus2 to C chord change (one bar per chord). The target notes were the 2 for the sus2 chord, and the 3 for the C chord. We also played various two and three note motifs that targeted the 2,3, and 4. This podcast could be viewed as part 2 of the previous lesson. It will be a bit more challenging as our track is a four bar vamp consisting of Csus4, C, Csus2, C. This means that the definitive notes to define the chords are: 4, 3, 2, 3.
