Welcome to the 6th episode of Let’s Unpack That! We’re two friends, Cal and Chevall, who decided to start a podcast where we analyze media under a critical, appreciative lens. To start, we’re reading the legendary manga Berserk together for the first time and recording our reactions, analysis and BSing about the manga from the late Kentaro Miura, who died May 6, 2021 at the age of 54.

This week, Cal and Chevall finally talk about the viral elephant in the room and nationalist trends in anime, with a whole lot of Berserk in between. We finally reach the end of the Heretic arc as the count makes his final decision about whether or not to sacrifice Theresia, while Guts continues to boil over with anger as Griffith ignores him. We’re almost to the Golden Age, get ready!
