Episode 6: From Bananas to Lemons - A Transformation
In this, sort of, vulnerable episode, we talk about what it felt like to be an Asian growing up in a predominantly non-Asian environment. We discuss our childhood and school experiences and how we went from experiencing shame and feeling out of place to being proud of who we are today. More specifically, we tried to pinpoint the moment where we had our transformation of becoming a Lemon from being a Banana!
As we think back on our past, many regrets arise, but the present is where we can make up for it. Whether you are Asian or not, we hope you can somewhat relate to our experiences and we hope that you will always feel proud of the culture you were brought up in.
