I had the pleasure of talking with Kristine Petterson in today's episode. Kristine is an educator, yoga instructor, doula, sleep specialist and a parent. Her compassion for others, desire for learning and growing along with many other amazing attributes have led her down the path to her newest venture, Mindful Parenting. Kristine wanted to make a positive change in her parenting and she has found that to be possible through a lot of education and experience in the practice of being mindful.
From Kristine's website she explains mindfulness. "Mindfulness can be a specific type of formal meditation, but I like to think of it as "noticing", becoming aware of where you are, in your body, thoughts, and feelings at a given moment. In moments of joy, it brings added joy. In moments of challenge it brings the space and sweetness you need to respond in the way you want."
Kristine is now offering a 5 week online course for parents, called Mindful Parenting. She has put together a wonderful program to educate and empower parents through the mindful parenting practices she teaches.
