BRIAN L. HAYES, Geologist, Cook, Poet, Punster, writes poetry and plays bodhran while living in suburban Piedmont North Carolina, with his wife, a dog and two cats. An avid cook, who loves trying new recipes, he is the primary cook at home.  A fan of Irish music he has played at a local session.  His instrument of choice is the Bodhran. Being a chronic punster, he believes the shortest distance between two puns is a straight line.  He believes that poetry is emotion and thought condensed and expressed as purely as a writer can.  His past publications have included Windhover, Sandstorm, anthologies in India and Pakistan, including “Dreamers Never Die”, the United States, and a recently published chapbook, “Melancholy Love.”
