I have no idea why I said to keep the camera and mic 6 to 8 feet away! Sure, you want a full-body shot to show posture and presence—but once that’s done, bring that mic in to where the camera is. The real goal is clean audio and a clear image, not making it look or sound like you're in another zip code.
