Welcome to the Shepherding Chaos Podcast. Firstly a little explanation of the name: we’ve always felt that retail is a by nature a fairly chaotic world. We don’t mean that in a derogatory fashion, just that there are so many variables at play. Sales driven by environment, circumstance and changing customer preference including the technology they want, and are prepared to use, contribute to a multitude of influencing factors on the ultimate margin we achieve and therefore the amount of money we have to spend.

Leading and being involved in retail businesses that are constantly on the edge of change has led us to believe that the best way of dealing with this scenario is to acknowledge and embrace change and to manage through a process of encouragement, shepherding if you like, rather than blind rule following.

In the podcast, we’ll discuss subjects in the retail and retail technology world. We’ll also look to have guest speakers and generally share our thoughts in a light and thought provoking way.
