In this episode of Hybrid Cloud Forecast series, Andre and Sridhar Muppidi, IBM Fellow, VP & CTO IBM Security discuss  the security onion: a business layer for compliance, a technical layer for implementing and monitoring controls, and a layer to infuse security throughout the lifecycle from planning to managing and operating applications at scale. Andre and Sridhar talk about how security is typically seen as a gate, but needs to evolve to being a guardrail, where guidance is provided to not only predict and prevent bad things from happening, but course correct and fix any issues as soon as possible.  They touch upon the fact that security has real life applications like managing the moderna vaccine pipeline and the hacker attacks happening today and discuss how machine learning can be used to make the protection more proactive and the detection more accurate.
