In a very special Halloween episode, Jim and Marcos welcome fall with the Signal Fire, a cocktail created by Matty Clark at Dutch Kills in Long Island City, NY that combines Islay scotch, rum, maple syrup, and an aperitif made from Gentiane root.

This Week's Recipe:
The Signal Fire (stolen from Matty Clark via Esquire Magazine)
1/4 oz. Maple Syrup (we used Dorset Maple Reserve)
1/4 oz. Laprhoaig 10 Year (we had 18 but last Christmas was a banner year for whiskey gifts)
3/4 oz. Gentiane (we used Suze)
1-1/2 oz. Black Strap Rum (we used Sailor Jerry)
1 Maraschino cherry

Combine all ingredients but the cherry in a rocks glass, add ice, and stir. Add the cherry, then put on a shearling coat and go sit by a fire while listening to your choice of Dashboard Confessional or Car Seat Headrest.
