52 Weeks of Me

Episode 60: Breaking Down the Busy Mindset with Julie Hyde

Listen Later

Julie Hyde is from Melbourne, Australia; an entrepreneur, a huge animal lover, and a wife to an amazing husband. She is driven to making difference and has been empowering people for 14 years now after becoming a corporate dropout from à company she worked with for 21 long years. Working in the banking industry for over two decades, she succeeded in climbing up the ladder every couple of years. The higher she climbed, the clearer her values had become -- role-modeling and doing what she says she’s going to do. Deeming that her own values and that of the organization were moving in different directions, she saw herself standing at the fork in the road. Instead of staying and hoping things would get better, she decided it was time to take destiny into her own hands although admittedly, she had no specific idea how to do it at that time.
14 years later, she has become an influential leader of herself with a superpower of simplifying leadership. She is especially empowering women to rewrite history through leadership.

Highlights:

  • First step to unshackling: If you are not happy, you have the power to change your situation and create options for yourself
  •  Groundwork: walk into your own passion, stock up on who you really are and what you are good at, and make yourself marketable in the right spaces
  •  The transition: Crossing the line from corporate to consultancy/entrepreneurship is challenging but extremely liberating as it offers more flexibility and adaptability in many respects
  •  Busy vs. Productivity: Busy doesn't mean anything more than doing a lot; productivity results from doing the right things

More specifically, she advises everyone to really take time to think about what they are doing in order to find clarity on what and when they should be doing things. Then you will be enabled to determine which things you need to stop doing, what to say yes and what to say no to. Only then will you feel truly fulfilled. Moreover, she resonates that doing more is not better. Should you want to learn more about her game-changing passion and superpowers, check her out on the following platforms:
