Episode 60: Elaine Doyle. This week Joannagh brings us the story of Elaine Doyle, a 16-year-old girl from Greenock who was attacked and killed on her way home from a night out in June of 1986. We hear how the appeals by the Police and the Media for witnesses to come forward yielded little of use to the investigation.
Joannagh also tells us how unusually careful collection and storage of DNA evidence for the time - in which DNA evidence was in its infancy - led to a breakthrough in the case when the evidence was re-examined 28 years later.
