Insecurity

Can insecurity sabotage your relationship? Can a dude be insecure? Is that even a thing?

Early on the idea that my supermodel of a wife could be insecure never crossed my mind. At the time I was 150lbs over weight, in my mind skinny gorgeous people had nothing but confidence. Not the case here.

It is incredibly important that we create a safe place in our relationship so we can share our insecurities and they will not be held against us, so we don’t suffer in silence. We can actually work together to overcome those places of insecurity. It can strengthen your relationship from a vulnerability standpoint. It begs the question, why didn’t I ever share these thoughts with my wife? She now is my biggest advocate thanks to the work we put in.

Insecurity can create a false narrative where you begin to second guess your spouse that in turn creates distance that turns into resentment. The message in insecurity is most often I am not enough or I can’t measure up.
