my eyes wide open.

In the decay of

expired masks,

I finally understood

my own essence.

My body was

speaking truth

when my mind

was still bargaining

for delayed consequences.

I was never shy,

nor compliant –

only dimming my own fire.

I softened my desires,

blunted my voice,

dismissed my own depths

for superficial glitter.

I swallowed bitterness

as if it was sacred duty. 

Saturn showed me

there is no going back —

only boldly unfolding forward

with grace and sharpness,

carving my own life.
