Few artists that I have known in my lifetime match the prolific catalog of Swedish cellist Henrik Meierkord. With over 70 of his own releases on Bandcamp in addition to the seemingly innumerable collaborations found on other record labels and Bandcamp profiles, Meierkord adds to his legacy with a stunning drone-fueled ambient album released through Imaginary North Records. “String Drone Adagios” is alluring, mesmerizing, hauntingly beautiful, and mystique-laiden from start to finish with layer upon layer of minimalist strings. This eight-song album clocks in at an hour and 20 minutes and is rewarding for the attentive listener, those that can sustain an attention span longer than this 60-second short.
