In today's Tanya we discuss the Alter Rebbe's plea to his Chassidim to only appoint leaders to congregational weekday morning prayers from amongst men who have the luxury to pray slowly and with intention (for a minimum of 1.5 hours). We also discuss how on Shabbos and Yom Tov, businessmen are not exempt from this as well. We discuss how seriously the Alter Rebbe felt about this to the extent that he said that he would send spies to check on congregations and would distance anyone he caught not adhering to this slow praying from his classes.
Iggeres HaKodesh end of Epistle One.
