In this week's episode, Rae covers the horrific assault and murder of Brandon Teena. Though he was dead named and miss-labeled after his death, his murder led to increased lobbying for hate crime laws in the United States. Brandon's murder has shown light on the trans community and his life and death were the subject of the Academy Award-winning 1999 film Boys Don't Cry.
