This Passage from Mark 8 is when Jesus first confronts his disciples with his death and resurrection. Peter rebukes him and I don't think they really believe him. If they had, then on Sunday after his death on the cross they would have been waiting at his tomb to celebrate. When Jesus announces that He would die he challenges his disciples and everyone at the time that was listening to deny themselves, pick up their cross and follow Him. What was He talking about??
