(Note. The discourses are in Hindi language) Synopsis of this episode -
*It is the mind (Mana) which attains knowledge or salvation. After attaining knowledge, the mind looses its own existence and merges into Atman/Brahman. Sri Ramcharit Manas also says, in the process of knowing the Brahman, the seeker himself becomes the Brahman - "जानत तुम्हहि तुम्हहि होइ जाई".
* Dhyan (meditation) and Samadhi is nothing but detachment from worldly objects and controll over senses "ज्ञानाद्विषयवैरस्यं स समाधिर्हि नेतरः".
*Difference between Meditation and Samadhi is one of stages only. I.e. both are two stages in one process. At earier stage this process is called meditation and at the matured stage it is called Samadhi -
" दृढं विषयवैरस्यमेव ध्यानमुदाहृतम्।
तदेव परिपाकेन वज्रसारं भवत्यलम्।।"
* If the seeker has become comletelly detached, taking pain for meditation is usless for him.
*At the middle stage, it is adivisable for the seeker that he should devide the process of attaining the knowledge in two parts - 1. Japa and 2. Dhyan. The Japa includes learning from the Guru, assemble with other seekers, learn the Upanishads and recite the Gurumantra. One should begin with first part and thereafter do excersise of the second. When the second i.e. meditation takes break he should revise the first and rotate the same process again and again untill getting the stable Samadhi-
श्रुतपाठजपान्तेषु समाधिनिरतो भवेत्।
समाधिविरतः श्रान्तः श्रुतपाठजपाञ्छ्रयेत्।।"
