As he was pacing back and forth underneath the shelter of the shophouse, a red car pulled up not far from where he was standing. 

He squinted, trying to see through the drizzle if it was Nick in the car and the e-hailing driver beside him. Both remained still in the car as if waiting for him to make the first move.

He walked rapidly towards the car and bend down to peer through the window from the driver’s side. 

He tapped on the window and it rolled down silently.
