Like a cross-country race, life can give us days when the path is smooth and the run is easy, but at other times, what seemed to be effortless before, can become a rough road of bumps, hills, and life challenges that may press us into giving up the race that is set before us, and instead of holding out for long run blessings, we may turn aside giving in to life’s short run substitutions.  Happiness is the very reason to stay the course.
