The Donner Party was a group of emigrants traveling to California in 1846. They decided to listen to a random person who told them there was a short cut that he had never taken! and they were like sounds legit, lets go. Well they get caught in the worst weather and terrain conditions. It took them 6 more months than what it should have taken. Half of them die. Half of them commit cannibalism. 

It's honestly some very important American History about how stupid we are sometime.
