In 1965, David Brandt Berg received a “Warning Prophecy” from his mother that stated he had a special destiny and mission from god, and that his life was directly linked to the last 7 seven years of the world. David took this as his calling to start his own religious organization. It started as the Teens of Christ and transformed into what is today known as The Family International. In the first episode of this two part story, we look at David’s life, the start of his religious organization, and this history of what turned into one of the creepiest modern day sex cults.
