Continuing our interviews with community leaders working outside bicycling, Sara and Kyle talk this week with Luis Herrera, Home Garden Coordinator at the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. Luis talks about how he first became interested in growing food crops, how the home garden program fits into the other food justice programs at the Community Food Bank , and how his work is impacting families all over Tucson today. Through his gardening work at Pueblo Gardens Elementary, Luis has started working with a student bicycle club, teaching bicycle safety skills and leading rides through the community. Sara and Kyle also get to the bottom of a Google search resulting in the find of a pro-cyclist from the 1980’s of the same name - and an eerily similar nickname.
