The word "Default" is a very ugly word. Why, because if you co-sign on a loan you become responsible for that debt. It is DUMB in capital letters. Debt is dumb to get into through a co-signer on a loan. I know that you want to help out, but think first about helping yourself by staying out of debt. No matter how much you love your kids, things happen and kids do default on their loans, that you co-signed on. Stop it.
