Chicago-born actor Larry Manetti played Tom Selleck's (Magnums) best friend/Vietnam Veteran (Orville Wilbur Richard "Rick" Wright) from 1980 – 1988.

Magnum P.I. was cited as the first positive portrayal of Vietnam Veterans.

Larry is the author of the semi-autobiographical Aloha Magnum, based on his time on the show.
