For Episode 69 of The HipHopHumboldt Podcast, I had the privilege to interview 2 students from Cal Poly Humboldt who were willing to speak about the last 2 sit in protests that happened in February 2026 on campus in Arcata. We spoke about the Ethical Investment Declaration, how the first sit-in went, how the second sit-in went, and a lot about the failures of the University to listen to and honor the demands of the students, including ensuring none of the schools investments are tied up with companies that are involved with war or imperialism. The students also have demanded that the University implement a Sanctuary policy, and they are also fighting on behalf of the Teamsters Union who was striking for better wages. It was amazing to hear first hand accounts of how the protests went, and it was striking to hear how poorly Cal Poly Humboldt has handled the situation.
