Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) is an illness that occurs with concussions and subconcussive impacts, leading to depression, manic symptoms, anger, aggression, suicidality, headaches, cognitive impairment, and eventually dementia. I have proposed that lithium can treat or prevent CTE.
