Welcome back to Sips and Scripts!  In this episode we have a special guest!  Health/Wellness Influencer, Shelly Carpenter of @riseandsustain on Instagram and www.shellyclately!  Her movie pick for us is Eve's Bayou:  written and directed by Kasi Lemmons, starring Samuel L. Jackson, Lisa Nicole Carson, Jurnee Smollett, Lynn Whitfield, Debbi Morgan, Meagan Good & Diahann Carroll.  Topics discussed:  Will Smith's new book, family jealous, who's to blame in an affair, and different perspectives of the same trauma.

Our paired movie cocktail is:   Bayou Rum Punch Cocktail

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 oz. Malibu Coconut Rum
  • 1/2 oz. Dark rum (we used Barcardi Black)
  • 1/2 Cup Fruit punch
  • 1/4 Cup orange juice
  • 1/2 oz. Grenadine
    • Instructions:
    1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
    2. Pour in the Malibu rum, dark rum, fruit punch, orange juice & grenadine.
    3. Shake for 15-20 seconds to chill and mix the drink.
    4. Pour into a tall high ball glass. 
    5. Garnish with an orange slice and maraschino cherry!
