It was a regular week. Doctor appointments. Drives I kept postponing. The traffic concern. The parking worry. All the completely reasonable reasons to stay close to home.

And then — one by one — something kept happening.

A friend I couldn't postpone anymore. A Neuroscience department full of strangers with the warmest smiles. A Friday night in Miami Beach that almost didn't happen. A question in an interview that made me see the whole week at once.

Gratitude didn't arrive because I went looking for it. It ambushed me.
