Our next episode is hosted by Adero Robinson, executive director for City Year Columbus, and features Michael Corey, Executive Director of the Human Service Chamber of Franklin County (HSC). Founded in 2010, nonprofit leaders conceived HSC to help the health and human services sector come together, with one voice, to improve services to the people they served, and the Columbus Region as a whole. Currently, the HSC serves and represents 160+ nonprofits in the Columbus region. You can learn more about HSC by visiting: https://humanservicechamber.org/
ABOUT RED JACKET ROUNDTABLE
Red Jacket Roundtable is hosted by City Year Columbus and its executive director, Adero Robinson. Each podcast episode will feature a robust conversation featuring local community members and leaders as they discuss community and civic issues to include diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in our community. Additionally, this podcast will explore City Year successes, challenges, and intersectionality that impact young people we work with in the schools and in the AmeriCorps program.
ABOUT CITY YEAR COLUMBUS
City Year Columbus helps students and schools succeed, while preparing the next generation of civically engaged leaders who can work across lines of difference. Diverse teams of City Year AmeriCorps members provide support to students, classrooms and the whole school. Schools that partner with City Year are up to 2-3 times more likely to improve in English and math assessments, and the more time students spend with AmeriCorps members, the more they improve on social, emotional and academic skills—skills that help students thrive in school and contribute to their community. A proud member of the AmeriCorps national service network, City Year is supported by AmeriCorps, local school districts and private philanthropy. City Year Columbus partners with Columbus City School District to serve students in 8 schools located in the Near East Side, East Side, Linden, South Side, and West Side neighborhoods of Columbus.
