Kris' bio:

I’ve been involved in music for as long as I remember. I used to be troublesome as a child and my mom, a radio news anchor and former DJ for WHUR Radio wouldn’t let me buy songs and so I listened to her massive playlist of old Motown songs and fell in love. I listened to those songs from when I was about 6 to this day. This served as the foundation for my style and inspiration in music. I then picked up the saxophone in elementary school, and played It all the way through high school. The saxophone taught me the basics of music theory and helped me develop an appreciation for classical music. I stumbled onto the piano in 7th grade when I wanted to learn this song from a game called Final Fantasy, that I thought was beautiful. When I sat down to play I couldnt get it, but I kept messing up, and It sounded good, and so I kept going and started making short piano solo songs. I continued to do this through middle school and into high school. One day my mom told me I should sing, and I tried, and I hated my voice. But she kept assuring me that I had a beautiful voice and so I kept practicing. In 9th grade I made my first song for voice called “Cause of You” with the help of my mom. I was way to shy to sing It out for other people but the process of making the songs were so satisfying, I was able to release held emotions. I was able to say things I could never speak aloud. Throughout my life since I was 6 I wrestled. And when I got to high school I was good enough to be a state contender, which meant I was constantly training. Music was my release from that. And so I created, like the Cambrian explosion I made song after song after song, about every situation I have experienced in love and more. Those songs I made in my time of stress are the ones people have begun to love today! Senior year I accepted an appointment to the Naval Academy Preparatory School, where I spent the year preparing and training for the Naval Academy, where I could begin my career of service. I leave for my initial indoctrination period on the 28th, and after that Is done I will have 4 years of schooling to finish so I can get my degree and then I will transition to the service of my choice (hopefully marine corps air) I will also be able to wrestle collegiately throughout that period. Music and Service have been two dreams of mine for as long as I can remember. And I am working to this day to fulfill both of those dreams!
