Welcome to the Things That Shape Us podcast. My name is Jonathan Wymer and I'm joined by James Gary to discuss a various range of subjects that are all related to one idea: How those things shape our lives.

In this episode, James and I discuss two things that shaped our lives. First, James tells the tale of how he arrived at film school and the effect that the higher education system had on his pursuit for greater knowledge . Second, I put us in a very abstract discussion about escapism when it comes to video games and the effects it has on our relationships with friends and family. Parts get oddly heated but the purpose is the same: to see how these things have shaped us.
