Episode 7: Stand in the Gap to Better Support BIPOC Creatives and Makers

Listen Later

Considering the past week’s events concerning Kristy Glass Knits and the harm perpetuated against Black knitters, fiber artists, and makers in the knitting community, we decided to host a conversation around how white knitters can stand in the gap and do better. Our friend Maci @littlemissknitss generously shares her perspective and wisdom, and we hope this feels like a conversation between friends processing these difficult topics and learning together. This episode is aimed towards our white listeners and watchers, and we hope we provide some actionable advice. We address microaggressions, what it can look like to stand in the gap on Instagram, allyship, accountability, apologies, and more.
