Societal expectations are usually just a reflection of a strange protocol we're supposed to follow that adheres to the standards of someone else's inner moral code. Any step outside of their comfort zone comes along with the expectation that we should feel guilt or shame for not adhering to their personal programs which generally develop out of unhealthy programs that were passed down to them.
