Romans 6 describes that we were buried with Jesus through baptism into death, and equally as Jesus was raised for the dead, we were also raised with Him in newness of life. The Cross was the means by which we have been reconciled to God, and we are alive in the same resurrection power to now live as co-heirs with Christ. All this was a generous act of love all for the sake of being in communion with us. The broken body and the poured out blood on the cross was so we can live in authentic communion with God.
