On This Episode:

The world being handed down to the class of 2026 looks less like a launchpad and it looks more like an inherited disaster zone, a heavy and exhausting reality where our young adults are expected to smile for their graduation photos while stepping directly into the wreckage of a fractured society. For one day, we fill our graduates' emotions with joy and a sense of accomplishment, yet the ironic reality awaits for them after the celebration, we watch our high school and college graduates walk across a stage only to be greeted by an economy that prices them out of basic survival, a climate crisis that has advanced from a distant warning to an active catastrophe, and a hyper-polarized culture that trades genuine human connection for bitter tribal warfare. We have built a system that demands everything from the next generation. Our systems unfortunately drain them of their peace, their financial security, and their collective future; while offering them nothing but the bill for a broken world they had no hand in destroying. The sheer absurdity of our current landscape lies in how casually our older generations have shrugged off this burden, expecting these young adults to resiliently fix the deep-seated systemic failures, soaring living costs, and institutional decay that we have allowed to rot. It is a heartbreaking and lonely vantage point for a graduate to realize that the reward for years of hard work is simply the privilege of fighting for survival in a world that feels increasingly hollow and indifferent to their existence. So when did we decide that passing down a ruined planet and an unlivable economy was an acceptable baseline for the future, and why do we expect them to thank us for the privilege of inheriting the mess?

~ To our next generation of adults, good luck out there (-_-)
