I challenge everyone this week to bless someone unexpectedly in a small way.
It doesn’t have to be monetary. It can be as simple as helping your neighbor carry in groceries, volunteering at the food bank, or assisting a friend with a project. It doesn’t matter what it is, but rather, the intent to impact someone’s day in a positive direction.
This past week I had a very important person in my life show me the greatest act of generosity I could ever imagine.
I am not going to get into the details, but it left me speechless.
In times when I find myself lost for words (both good and bad) I turn to the bible so the quote from this week is Proverbs 11:25 (New International Version)
A generous person will prosper;
whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.
This person has already done so much for me that his level of generosity is hard for me to comprehend. However, I always make him the promise that I will pay it forward.
As you think about your week, reflect on something generous that someone has done for you recently. Then simply pay it forward by blessing someone else. Give with a cheerful heart knowing that you are changing someone’s life, even if it is in a very small way.
It is these small blessings that grow, and create a chain reaction of giving that can truly change the world.
So go out this week and give some extra time, a helping hand, or a donation. Give without the expectation of anything in return, but even then I think you will find that when you give it always has a way of coming back to you in even greater ways.
