A young woman gets pregnant and develops pica, a strange condition that results in her swallowing strange things that she shouldn't.

To complicate matters, she's in a toxic relationship with a mama's boy husband and his classist family.

We eventually learn what the root of her troubles are, and to say that it's dark would be a grave understatement.
