Pet behavior problems are the number one reason people turn over their pet to the shelter. It can be very frustrating to have a pet with bad behaviors. We just want our pets to be happy and peaceful family members. When a pet misbehaves at home, it can send you into frustration and even anger.
In my work as a Pet Psychologist, I have discovered that pets can suffer from mental health issues just like we do. A pet’s life experiences shapes their personality. The biggest mental health issues arise from an animal experiencing trauma, abuse, abandonment or neglect.
A pet’s misbehavior is actually an impulsive behavior, meaning they are not mentally in control of that misbehavior. Listen in and enjoy!
