What other advice did the Archbishop give Mother?

In dealing with her sense of God's absence, her sense that He did not want her, her sense of her own rejection, the Archbishop encouraged Mother to be a cheerful giver. He encouraged her to smile. But he also helped her see the ways in which this suffering caused a radical purification of her soul and prepared her and others for greater union with God.
