Jacob hears and says nothing—he waits for his sons. The sons of Jacob negotiate deceitfully: circumcise every male, then you can intermarry with us. On the third day, while the men are still in pain, Simeon and Levi slaughter them all. Jacob rebukes them—worried about his reputation, not his daughter. The brothers' unanswered question echoes across millennia: "Should he treat our sister like a prostitute?" A dark chapter. No heroes. Dinah's voice is never heard.
